Change in management: Hans-Jürgen Holz, who has led the company successfully for more than 20 years, retires. As from 01.01.2011 Matthias Delius takes over the management at Elektra GmbH.

This year is characterized by increased presence at domestic and foreign exhibitions. With a new exhibition stand Elektra premieres at Euroshop in Duesseldorf. In addition, after 8 years of absence Elektra participates at light+building in Frankfurt and a lot of new and promising contacts are made.

One year later ELEKTRA is awarded in quick succession three coveted awards: the „M Technology Award“ at the ZOW in Bad Salzuflen, the worldwide coveted design prize „Red Dot Design Award“ for high product quality and the „Interzum Award: Intelligent Material & Design“.

ELEKTRA extends its market lead by designing new and continuously successful products. Among those products number, among others, the fluorescent lamps LD 2005 and LD 2006 as well as the built-in halogen lamp LD 1.10-1.

As the first luminaire manufacturer at all ELEKTRA launches its own electronic transformer. The great market success turns the particularly small and flat safety transformers into an integral part of the product portfolio.

Conditioned by the enduring success in the design of innovative lighting systems ELEKTRA begins to set up its own export division.

With the Luminestra from Osram, ELEKTRA manufactures the first flat lighting fixture with fluorescent tube for the market. Followed one year later by the first whole-plastic built-in lamp und two years later ELEKTRA is present with its first own fair stand at the INTERZUM in Cologne.

Renowned companies are won as regular customers, among them Osram, Hustadt and Brilliant. With the newly set-up distribution "Light for Furniture" ELEKTRA sends out a clear message: As the first manufacturer of built-in halogen furniture lamps on the market the company from Enger ushers in a new era.

Horst Ehlebracht and Jürgen Heitmann found the ELEKTRA GmbH & Co. KG. At the beginning the company has a staff of eight – but the manpower level is raised quickly. In the following years ELEKTRA manufactures new halogen products for Osram such as Copilot, Mini and Maxi Spot, Garden Spot, Halogen Mobile Spot and others.
